๐Ÿ“ฑAdding MFA to your account

Short tutorial on creating your Tradetomato account and adding MFA

What is MFA?

Multi-Factor authentication (MFA) is a security mechanism that requires you to provide multiple forms of identification to verify your identity. MFA is designed to give you an added layer of protection beyond just the username and password, which helps to reduce the risk of unauthorized access and protect you against identity theft and other cyber threats.

At Tradetomato, we take security very seriously, which is why we take extra steps to ensure all your private information is as secure as possible.

How to add MFA?

If you have never used MFA before, you will have to choose and download an authenticator application that is compatible with your smartphone from your respective app store. (e.g., Authenticator [Android],[Apple], or Authy)

While setting up your Tradetomato account, you will be prompted to add MFA. Once prompted, copy and store the 11-word recovery code in a secure location. This code will allow you to recover your Tradetomato account if your device is stolen/lost. Scan the QR code displayed on the screen by using the camera of your mobile device. To complete the setup process, you will need to enter a one-time code provided by your authenticator on your mobile device. Once linked, you will, from now on, need to enter a verification code when logging in to your Tradetomato account.
